Piano Lessons

What You Get: Weekly private lesson with individualized instruction and a step-by-step practice plan for the time between lessons, a monthly casual performance opportunity at a public open mic night, a formal performance opportunity each semester at a themed recital, a monthly piano studio class where performance pieces are peer reviewed in a positive environment.

Available to students of all ages! We can learn the classical standards, play out of the jazz real book, learn scales and chords to better understand music theory, learn how to play while you sing, you name it. I'll cater your lesson to help you reach your own personal goals as a musician.

I use the Bastien piano curriculum and supplement with exercises, scales, theory, and performance pieces as needed. Every third Saturday of the month students are welcome to attend a piano studio class at no additional charge from 2pm to 3pm where we will practice performing our pieces for each other and offering positive comments.

The first lesson is considered a free trial with no strings attached.  We'll get to know each other and discuss the most appropriate level of curriculum to begin with.  Email annamitchellmusiclessons@gmail.com to discuss details and scheduling.

Voice Lessons

What You Get: Weekly private voice lesson with individualized instruction and a step-by-step practice plan for the time between lessons, voice warm-up recordings and accompaniment recordings to successfully and efficiently practice without a live accompanist, a monthly casual performance opportunity at a public open mic night, a formal performance opportunity each semester at a themed recital with options for solo and/or group pieces, a monthly voice studio class where performance pieces are peer reviewed in a positive environment.

Available to students of all ages! I work with beginners who are just working on matching pitch to old pros who have been singing for years. Whether you're a choral singer who wants to be a better soloist, a soloist or choral singer who wants to prepare for, UIL, a performance or audition, an instrumentalist who wants to learn the basics of vocal technique, or someone who is convinced they "can't sing," I'll give you the tools you need to succeed.

Every second Saturday of the month students are welcome to attend a piano studio class at no additional charge from 2pm to 3pm where we will practice performing our pieces for each other and offering positive comments.

Young Musicianship Lessons

Available to students 2 to 6 years old! Many parents of young kids contact me wanting their child to study music on a regular basis. This age group may be too young to study piano or voice formally but we can still study music through discovery and play. I use a variety of games and songs to familiarize my young students with the fundamentals of music. Many young musicianship students go on to study piano or voice with me when they get older.

The first lesson is considered a free trial with no strings attached.  We'll get to know each other and discuss the most appropriate level of curriculum to begin with.  Email annamitchellmusiclessons@gmail.com to discuss details and scheduling.
